September did happen for me, I just didn't write anything about it. I have been continuing with my research work and also preparing a batch of new work for two Christmas Exhibitions. They are: Wish List at Model House Craft and Design Centre, Llantrisant, Rhondda. This one runs from 1st November 2008 until 6th January 2009. Christmas Paradise at Walford Mill Craft Centre, Wimborne, Dorset. This one also starts on 1st November 2008 and continues until 4th January 2009. Berrimilla, my brother Alex's boat, arrived in Falmouth around midnight on September 21st after sailing through the North West Passage from Sydney. It it just so easy to sit here and trot out that sentence. If you want to understand the reality, you will need to read the blogs of their amazing voyage here. For logistical reasons, we weren't able to be there to meet them which was deeply disappointing but we went down the next day to say hello and offer congratulations to Alex and crew Corrie and Kimbra before they all dispersed in their own separate directions. |
New work with wax resist; dye is wet and the beads of dye on the wax are still to be dabbed off. If I don't do this, they will bleed through to the background in the steamer when the wax melts. You cansee the finished scarf if you scroll down to the work for Christmas shows; it's the Skell design on the left, second row down |
