Ann made this beautiful and very unusual scarf which has a central panel of "eyes". These were produced by waxing and overdyeing. Her way of working is very unusual and rather courageous - she is prepared to change the course of her design mid-way and make something that isn't "working" into something else that is working.. At the same time she has an idea or a concept driving her along. |
This was Ann's sample, which changed from being an ordered study of a pine cone into this sort of inter-stellar firework display! |
A really accomplished piece of work from Sylvia on Hua Li gauze. Her trademark rainbow ground, waxed in diagonals and dyed dark blue. Wonderful. |
Another interpretation of wax on rainbow-painted gauze from Sylvia using large swirls of wax painted on with a big household paint brush. |
